Public-Private-Partnership between the economy and schools or in the context of professional teacher training is more and more common. Therefore it gets important to connect those partnerships with science, especially educational science, to work collaboratively for more quality in learning and further education. Educational science itself needs to be part of those Public-Private-Partnerships in order to show its strength in contextual and practical approval. This book tells about the research of a professional teacher training, initiated by the Intel® Education Group, and spread-out within Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The evaluated teacher training offers blended learning scenarios to teach and enhance the use of digital media in lessons. More than four years (from 2004 till 2008) a research team of the Media Pedagogy department at the Institute of Media und Educational-Technology (imb) accompanied the programme Intel® Teach – Advanced Online with quantitative and qualitative studies and counseled the quality management overall. This documentation is a compact overview that informs about the different steps of evaluation. This includes in a first phase a quantitative online survey of teacher participants, to analyse the effects of the teacher training (Intel® Teach – Advanced Online), in a second phase a qualitative evaluation about the sustainability of the training and in a third phase the development and implementation of a so called „Reporting System“ to ensure ongoing quality. To each evaluation phase the main results are presented and discussed. Those results inform about the success of training as well as the challenges that need to be faced to provide a sustainable impact of teaching and learning. Research approaches and results are also embedded in the latest discussions of quality and innovation in the context of professional teacher training (education in general) and the benefits of blended learning. Objective of this book is not only to present summarised research findings, but to demonstrate successful cooperations between economy and schools on the one hand and economy and educational science on the other hand – highlighted by a real case.
